The Marco Polo Boat Tour by Bragozzo
This activity involves children from 5 years old
As Venice lagoon is dotted with dozens of islands and rich of wondrous legends from its glorious and troubled past, it is also a great place for children to live an adventure and learn a bit about its history. On the trail of the celebrated navigator and discoverer, the children will be involved in a real sailing adventure, choosing one or more of the following activities (the program will be set in advance with the parents):

The program
- Learn the rudiments of sailing with the assistance of a master navigator
- Go clamming or fishing with a real Venetian fisherman who’s going to teach you about the species populating the lagoon environment
- Swim in the lagoon water, far from the busy routes of the central islands
- Head to Murano island, where you will visit a glass factory and learn the blowing glass technique with the assistance of a master glass-worker
- Head to Burano, where you can meet the old fishermen community, or to some other island, according to the family instructions.
The bragozzo is a traditional wooden boat used for centuries by fishermen and merchants navigating the Northern Adriatic Sea. A full day experience is strongly recommended as the bragozzo, slower than a water taxi, allows children and/or family to enjoy some of the activities listed above, such as fishing or sailing.
The tour by bragozzo won’t be possible in case of bad weather.
According to interests and time at disposal, the tour can also be hybrid, including both bragozzo and water taxi.
Day tour (9:00 – 17:00) includes: rental of the boat, English-speaking guide on board, guided visits in Burano and Murano.
