A special Vatican tour: Art, Politics, banquets cookbooks of the Popes and a wine Tasting

The program:
A walk to disclose the role of food during the Reinassance while enjoying the beauty of the Vatican Museums. In the XV century Rome was one of the capitals of the haute cuisine in Europe. One of the most famous portraits in the Vatican Pinacoteca (the Museums gallery of paintings) shows us the author of one of the most important cookbooks of the Renaissance, who also happened to be the Vatican Librarian. Not to forget the important political role food has played during important occasions such as the Papal Conclave or the legendary banquets held in the Vatican Palaces, where great artists as Bernini were involved in designing the banquets sets as well as in creating their ornamentation, using sugar.
